InterManager calls for the protection of seafarers and ‘clear, coordinated guidance’ on safe passage in Hormuz area

InterManager says it is deeply concerned by the escalation of hostilities affecting merchant shipping in and around the Strait of Hormuz. “The safety and welfare of seafarers must remain the absolute priority,” states President Sebastian von Hardenberg (pictured). “Merchant vessels and their crews should never become collateral damage in geopolitical disputes.

“We urge all relevant authorities to provide clear, coordinated guidance to ensure a safe passage for vessels in the area,” he adds. “The global economy depends on secure maritime trade and, above all, on the protection of those who serve at sea.”
