Maersk issues Middle East customer advisory

A.P. Moller Maersk yesterday issued a customer advisory pointing out how tensions in the Middle East had significantly escalated, impacting operations involving Iran and Israel. Given the ongoing volatility and to ensure the safety of our crew, vessels and customers’ cargo, Maersk temporarily suspended vessel calls to the Port of Haifa.

However, as of 25 June 2025, cargo acceptance to Haifa port for imports has been reopened, Maersk reports. The line says it is monitoring the situation very closely and based on the recent developments and with prospects of a ceasefire currently in place, “we expect to be able to reopen export cargo acceptance once the lower safety risk of doing so has been reconfirmed.”

Operations continue at the Port of Ashdod, though again here Maersk is closely monitoring the situation and will “promptly reassess our decisions based on objective security assessments and maritime advisories.”

As of 25 June 2025, the Strait of Hormuz remains navigable, Maersk concludes. The line is closely following maritime security advisories, saying: “Our teams are working out contingency plans on a case-by-case basis to swiftly adapt to potential changes and will update customers of changes to the situation.”
