Ai Marine launches Fixed Premium P&I product backed by London P&I

Ai Marine, the London and Scandinavia based marine Managing General Agency,  has launched a Fixed Premium Protection & Indemnity (P&I) product, with capacity provided by London  P&I, a member of the International Group of P&I clubs.

Established in December 2023 with investment from B.P. Marsh & Partners PLC, Ai Marine has offices in  London, Stockholm and Bergen and now underwrites a global risk portfolio, with a strategic focus on the UK  & Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions.

The business has expanded its product suite to include Hull & Machinery, War Risks, Loss of Hire, Builders  Risks and Special Risks, and is committed to long-term client relationships, excellent claims service and continuous product innovation.

The launch of a Fixed Premium P&I product marks a significant milestone for Ai Marine, positioning it as a one-stop-shop solution for shipowners and operators in the Brownwater sector. Supported by London P&I paper with a $500m limit, the new offering enables Ai Marine to underwrite a global client base.

Tom Fulford-Smith (pictured, left) and Charles D’Alton (right), Co-Founders of Ai Marine, commented:“We are delighted to  be entering the P&I market with the support of London P&I, a name synonymous with putting the interests of  its membership first and providing best-in-class claims service to shipowners. We are very excited about  building a P&I team that will sit next to and work hand in hand with our Hull colleagues to provide a one-stop  service for our clients and their brokers, bringing efficiency and convenience to the placement of Brownwater  vessels.”

James Bean (centre), Chief Executive Officer of London P&I, commented:"We have been impressed by the  strength of the Ai Marine team and the clarity of their ambition in building out this offering. Their expertise  and distribution, combined with the ability to draw on our underwriting and claims experience, creates a  compelling proposition. Alongside their established Hull business, the addition of P&I delivers a more  integrated and practical solution for shipowners and operators in the Brownwater sector. We look forward to  working together.”
