Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore publishes 2024 annual report with emphasis on sustainability and innovation
MPA has published its 2024 annual report, titled ‘Leading Maritime Singapore Towards a Greener and Innovative Future’.
The report provides an overview of Maritime Singapore’s performance and MPA’s achievements in the past year, including key initiatives, projects, and collaborations.
Despite threats to global supply chains, Maritime Singapore reached several milestones in 2024. Some key highlights include 3.11 billion GT in vessel arrivals, 41.12 million TEUs in container throughput, 54.92 million tonnes in bunker sales volume – with alternative fuels making up 1.34 million tonnes – and S$5.2 billion in total business spend by key maritime companies overseen by MPA.
MPA says decarbonisation and digitalisation remain key on its agenda. “We are committed to achieving #netzero emissions by 2050 and have made good progress,” says the Authority. “We are also on track with our digitalisation efforts, with the roll out of the digital bunkering initiative and Maritime Innovation Lab 3.0 (MIL3.0).” 💡
MPA extends its heartfelt gratitude to all its tripartite and global partners for their unwavering support, and says it looks forward to continuing their shared journey towards maritime excellence, driven by innovation and sustainability.
