Port of Long Beach reports best August on record
Port of Long Beach has announced its busiest August on record and the fifth-strongest month in its 115-year history. The Port moved 919,992 TEU last month, up 2% from August 2025.
Imports rose 3.6% to 456,100 TEUs, exports were up 4% to 99,754 TEUs and empty containers dipped 0.39% to 364,138 TEUs.
Year-to-date, the Port of Long Beach has moved 6,678,078 TEUs through the first eight months of 2026, up 1.3% compared to the same period last year.
“Our August numbers tell us that shippers continue to adapt to tariffs and geopolitical uncertainty and are confident in the Port of Long Beach’s ability to deliver,” Port of Long Beach CEO Dr. Noel Hacegaba said. “The numbers also show that the Port is a safe and secure harbour that customers can count on.”
