Reliable I launched in Singapore – Gulf Marine’s first owned barge now in service

Gulf Marine welcomed Reliable I, into service with a naming ceremony at Marina Keppel Bay on 15 January 2026, marking the arrival of the company’s first purpose-built lubricant supply barge.

Against the stunning backdrop of Singapore’s skyline, Lisa Holum (pictured, left), Chief Operating Officer Asia of OSM Thome, stepped forward as Godmother and conducted the traditional bottle ceremony, officially commissioning the sleek 56-metre vessel before more than 100 senior shipping executives, shipowners, and marine professionals.

Built from the keel up to set a new benchmark in delivery speed and reliability, Reliable I boasts: 1,058 KL total cargo capacity, IMO Tier III-compliant Mitsubishi high-speed main engine with SCR system, Advanced loading systems and real-time inventory management.

Frank Olsen (right), CEO Gulf Marine, told guests: “Reliable I is a major step forward: our first owned, purpose-built barge. It enables faster, cleaner and more consistent deliveries, and it underlines the promise we make to every customer – on-time, in-full, wherever your vessels operate.”

The evening closed with a lively customer reception beside the newly launched barge, now proudly operating alongside Gulf Marine’s six chartered barges in Singapore.
