Synergy Marine Group appoints Vikas Trivedi as Co-CEO – Ship Management
Singapore-based Synergy Marine Group has announced the appointment of Vikas Trivedi as Co-CEO – Ship Management, underscoring the Group’s ongoing focus on delivery, operational excellence, and long-term customer confidence.
In his new role, Trivedi will lead Synergy’s Tanker and Gas Carrier division, working closely with Ajay Chaudhry, who continues to head the Group’s Dry vessel portfolio. This complementary leadership structure reflects Synergy’s intent to deepen its bench strength across segments and geographies, providing continuity and clarity in a market shaped by shifting customer priorities and evolving regulatory expectations.
Trivedi brings nearly 25 years of senior leadership experience at Anglo-Eastern, most recently serving as Managing Director. A Class 1 Marine Chief Engineer and alumnus of DMET Kolkata, he has managed diverse fleets and spearheaded initiatives on alternative fuels, including ammonia readiness. His contributions span classification society technical committees and Shell’s Partners in Maritime Safety programme.
Jesper Kristensen, Group CEO of Synergy Marine Group, said: “With Vikas and Ajay leading our divisions, we are reinforcing what Synergy stands for, dependable delivery, operational depth, and a relentless focus on quality. This leadership pairing enables us to present our full toolbox to shipowners at a time when the maritime sector is undergoing profound change, ensuring we remain a consistent, capable partner across segments and geographies.”
Synergy Marine Group, with over 700 vessels under management, is one of the world’s largest ship managers and a recognised leader in dual-fuel ship operations. The company continues to support viable decarbonisation strategies, including sustainable biofuel voyages, carbon capture systems, and retrofit projects, while maintaining strong delivery performance and high crew standards across vessel types.
Commenting on his appointment, Vikas Trivedi said: “What inspires me at Synergy is the calibre and commitment of its people. As the industry navigates the energy transition, my focus will be on building practical capabilities that help shipowners adapt with safety, clarity, and continuity. A just transition, anchored in a safety-first environment and delivered by well-trained crew, will be key to making that shift successful.”
Synergy says this appointment strengthens its leadership at a pivotal moment for the ship management industry, as owners seek reliable partners with the scale, capability, and resilience to support evolving operational and commercial goals.
