Strong growth continues at Oman’s Asyad Drydock in Duqm
After having completed a record-breaking 232 projects in 2024 - the highest number since it started operation in 2011 yielding net profits up 55% year-on-year - Asyad Drydock’s strong growth continues.
First-half 2025 revenue at the Duqm-based yard was up 15% compared to the comparable 2024 period, reported Ahmed bin Ali Al Bulushi, CEO of Asyad Drydock and Infrastructure Services, a subsidiary of the state-owned Asyad Group,
“These results empower us to move forward with confidence as we execute expansion plans focused on efficiency, digital transformation, talent development, and global partnerships, cementing Asyad Drydock’s role as a cornerstone in the global maritime sector," he said.
Mr Al Bulushi underscored Drydock’s pivotal role in driving economic value within the Special Economic Zone at Duqm by attracting global maritime giants for ship repair and maintenance, creating sustainable employment opportunities, and fortifying supply chains.
The company has now completed a cumulative total of more than 2,000 projects in all solidifying its reputation as one of the region’s leading ship repair and maintenance facilities. Its operational strengths were boosted in 2024 by securing American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) accreditation for propeller blade repairs on large vessels, deploying next-generation eco-friendly coating systems, and adopting robotic hull-cleaning technologies.
