Prime Tanker Management deploys ShipIn solution fleetwide to improve safety performance
Prime Tanker Management has adopted ShipIn’s FleetVision™ platform across its managed fleet, giving Masters and shore teams a clearer view of everyday vessel operations and stronger evidence to support safety improvement.
Prime introduced FleetVision to complement its existing safety management framework, including audits, inspections, safety meetings, near-miss reporting and vessel visits. The platform provides continuous operational insight between those established checkpoints, helping teams understand where procedures are being applied consistently and where additional attention may be needed.
FleetVision is used as a tool for onboard leadership, with the Master remaining at the centre of the safety process. Masters can review operational insights with their crews and use them during safety meetings, toolbox talks, and routine follow-up. This gives vessel leadership a clearer view of recurring patterns and additional evidence to reinforce established procedures during daily operations.
The fleetwide approach has supported measurable improvement. Over a 60-day comparison period, Prime recorded a 76% reduction in PPE-related deviations, a 51% reduction in bridge-related deviations, and a 69% reduction in technical deviations. Safety engagement also increased 3.4 times, reflecting greater participation in activities including drills, toolbox talks, pre-shift meetings, and debriefs.
Prime’s overall FleetVision Score improved from 82 to 94, reflecting stronger alignment with defined operational standards. The broader value has been the ability to apply the same operational view across vessels, giving Prime a consistent way to identify where performance differs, reinforce expectations, and track improvement across the fleet.
“FleetVision gives us greater visibility into how our established safety procedures are being applied during everyday operations,” said Marinos Syrigos, Deputy COO and DPA, Prime Tanker Management. “It gives the Master another tool to engage directly with the crew, understand where attention is needed, and reinforce the same safety expectations across vessels. That helps us continuously improve and maintain a more consistent safety standard throughout the fleet.”
The same operational visibility also strengthens Prime’s wider assurance framework. During TMSA and oil-major discussions, FleetVision provides objective evidence of how safety practices are applied in day-to-day operations, helping Prime show how risks are identified, procedures are reinforced, and performance improves over time.
“Prime’s approach demonstrates the value of combining established safety procedures with continuous operational insight,” said Osher Perry, CEO and Co-Founder of ShipIn Systems, PBC. “When that visibility is put in the hands of Masters and connected with shore teams, organizations can reinforce standards more consistently and focus attention where it can have the greatest impact.”
FleetVision brings together onboard video, vessel systems, and operational data to provide crews and shore teams with continuous visibility into vessel operations. The platform helps identify recurring operational risk patterns across bridge, safety and technical activities, giving fleet teams clearer information to support earlier action and more consistent performance.
