Norway to take centre stage as Guest Country at Marintec China
At Marintec China 2025 taking place next week, Norway takes centre stage as Guest Country of Honour — celebrating its leadership in sustainable and digital maritime solutions.
This year, the Team Norway pavilion at the Marintec China trade fair will feature 40 world-class exhibitors, including big-ticket names like Jotun, Kongsberg Maritime, Goltens, Sperre Air Power, Wilhelmsen Ships Service and TMC Compressors.
Marintec China, one of the world’s largest and most influential maritime trade fairs, take place in Shanghai from 2 to 5 December 2025 at Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). For over 40 years, the event has been the bridge between China and the international maritime community, providing a great opportunity for the maritime community to meet and do business.
“We are looking forward to returning to Shanghai for Marintec and we're thrilled to have so many Team Norway participants. We've been able to expand the pavilion and the enthusiasm everyone has shown has been tremendous,” said NME CEO Erlend Prytz.
"We've also been working closely with the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Beijing and the Consulate General in Shanghai and are very grateful for their support. We look forward to hosting Norway's official delegation—including a Minister from the Norwegian government, Norway’s Ambassador and Consul General—at our pavilion this week."
The Team Norway pavilion is the largest ever this year and ranks as the fourth largest national pavilion at the fair, covering 732 square metres, according to pavilion organiser Norwegian Maritime Exporters (NME).
As well as individual company stands the pavilion features a comfortable lounge furnished by Ekornes, a well-known Norwegian furniture brand, and with a French bakery serving lunches daily for the Team Norway exhibitors.
“China and Norway have a strong and long-standing cooperation in the maritime field. Our two countries share a solid foundation and significant potential for further collaboration. We see great opportunities to develop the cooperation in the maritime green transition and technological solutions for the future in a secure and sustainable way. I look forward to attend Marintec together with our Minister. To meet company representatives from Norway, their Chinese partners and show our support to the extensive cooperation we have in this field.” said Norway’s Ambassador to China H.E. Vebjørn Dysvik.
Marintec China 2025 is expected to attract over 2,200 exhibiting companies across 110,000 square metres, including 16 national pavilions, and more than 100,000 professional visitors from 100 countries and regions. The event will showcase the full spectrum of the supply chain for the shipbuilding industry and offer a unique experience of the latest advancements in the field.
“Norway will be a visible and active guest country of honour during Marintec. Team Norway China will organize a series of activities, seminars, networking and business matchmaking events – including a Norway Night reception.” said Norway’s Consul General Tobias Svenningsen.
