Dr. Tsakos, who has served as Founding Member and President of the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association (HELMEPA). will bring his perspective on the environmental and geopolitical issues facing the industry today.

The Tsakos family has also supported maritime education and community development through the Maria Tsakos Foundation, which promotes education and other initiatives, including support for students pursuing higher education. These efforts reflect the broader role of the maritime industry in developing the next generation of professionals and strengthening the communities connected to shipping.

The conference program will feature additional keynote presentations, panel discussions, and opportunities for industry professionals to exchange perspectives on the future of maritime. Discussions will explore operational challenges, environmental protection, emerging technologies, regulatory developments, workforce sustainability, and industry leadership. The program will conclude with NAMEPA’s annual awards dinner, recognizing individuals and organisations making meaningful contributions to marine environmental protection.
