LISW25 welcomes STAX Engineering as Silver Sponsor

London International Shipping Week 2025 (LISW25) is pleased to announce STAX Engineering as a Silver Sponsor, highlighting the company’s leadership in maritime emissions capture and its commitment to accelerating the path toward a clean-air future.

STAX will contribute to LISW25’s wide-ranging discussions on sustainability, clean technology, and operational innovation. The company plans to showcase its emissions capture solution—a flexible, barge-based solution that provides an immediate pathway to emissions reductions for shippers— technology already delivering real-world results in the US and now being deployed in the UK with support from the Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition.

STAX CEO Mike Walker (pictured) will speak on 15 September during the Marine Energy Transition Forum 2025, joining the panel, "The nuts and the bolts - technology and the transition," to discuss immediate emissions capture solutions moving ports toward zero emissions.

The company will also exhibit at the inaugural LISW25 Global Hub on 16 September, leading a US-focused panel for an audience of Ministers, Ambassadors, and industry leaders from across maritime. These high-profile platforms position STAX at the centre of global conversations about practical emissions solutions as the company expands its international footprint, recognising STAX's role in bridging regulatory requirements with commercially viable technology.

"LISW25 brings together the people and ideas shaping the future of shipping, and as a leader in California and the US for emissions capture across all vessel types, and we're here to showcase technology that's already working - no infrastructure disruptions, no operational compromises, no upfront expenses,” said Mike Walker, CEO of STAX Engineering.

Mr Walker continued: "At LISW25, we will be participating in key discussions, connecting with operators and port authorities, and showing how our mobile solutions help the industry move faster toward cleaner supply chains. Our goal is simple: prove that clean air can't wait, and with the right technology, it doesn't have to."

Launched in 2024, STAX Engineering is transforming how the maritime industry addresses at-berth emissions, delivering immediate air quality improvements for local communities and compliance with evolving emissions standards. Since then, STAX has become the first fleet approved by the California Air Resources Board (CARB)—the global leader in air quality standards for shippers—to provide emissions capture and control across all major vessel types, including container ships, auto carriers (ro-ro), and tankers.

The company's patented, flexible exhaust capture system connects directly to vessels without requiring modifications, even in the most congested ports. STAX's technology removes up to 99% of particulate matter (PM) and 95% of nitrogen oxides (NOx), enabling greener supply chains for shippers across the globe. To date, the company has treated more than 2,000 vessels for 25,000+ hours, capturing over 200 tons of pollutants—and counting.

Building on this success, STAX recently demonstrated a first-of-its-kind fully integrated emissions and carbon capture solution earlier this year. Together with its UK partners, STAX plans to deploy the comprehensive solution in the Port of Southampton with support from the UK Government’s Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition. In early 2025, STAX secured $70 million to scale operations across California, the US, and abroad. STAX is well-positioned to meet the growing global demand and accelerate progress toward a zero-emissions future.

Welcoming STAX Engineering to LISW25, Sean Moloney, co-founder and joint CEO of London International Shipping Week, said: “We are delighted to welcome STAX Engineering as a Silver Sponsor for LISW25. STAX’s pioneering work in emissions capture is exactly the kind of forward-thinking innovation that LISW is proud to spotlight. Their real-world, ready-now solution aligns perfectly with the week’s overarching themes of sustainability, decarbonisation, and global collaboration.”

LISW25 will take place from 15–19 September, bringing together global maritime leaders for a dynamic week of high-level events, industry forums, and international collaboration.

Registration for the STAX engineering event can be found here.
