Danica Crewing Specialists strengthens presence in Turkey with new appointment

Danica Crewing Specialists has appointed Hasan Koroglu (pictured) as Business Development Manager to support the company’s growing activities in Turkey.

With Istanbul long established as a gateway between Europe and Asia, Turkey has developed into an important maritime centre with a strong ship management community, a pool of skilled seafarers and a growing offshore sector. Danica’s decision to build up its presence in the country reflects the increasing demand from shipowners and managers for locally based support.

Mr Koroglu, who has many years’ experience in crewing and offshore recruitment, will be based in Istanbul and will focus on strengthening relationships with ship operators as well as developing new business opportunities.

Henrik Jensen, Founder and CEO of Danica Crewing Specialists, said: “Turkey has always been a seafaring nation and today Istanbul is a hub for ship management and crewing. It is important for Danica to be in this region, and Hasan’s knowledge of the market will allow us to do that.

"His local insight, combined with our international reach, gives us a strong foundation to support ship operators working in and with Turkey.”

Mr Koroglu said: “Danica has a strong reputation for careful crew selection, digital crewing solutions, global footprint and reliable service. I look forward to working with shipowners and managers here in Turkey to show how Danica can support their operations.”

This appointment forms part of Danica’s wider strategy to extend its international network, ensuring ship operators can access well-trained and motivated crew wherever they need them.
