The Swedish Club names Markus Johansson as Chief Financial Officer
Gothenburg, 4 December 2025 — The Swedish Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Markus Johansson as its new Chief Financial Officer.
Markus brings more than 20 years of international financial leadership experience to the role. He joins the Club from Elseco Ltd, where he served as Group CFO, leading M&A initiatives aimed at securing private equity investment and transforming the Group’s financial reporting across operations in five countries.
He previously held senior roles at EF Education First, where he oversaw major restructuring projects in the UAE and Saudi Arabia and strengthened financial governance and commercial decision-making across regional teams.
Markus also spent over a decade with GAC Group, a global provider of shipping, logistics and marine services. In finance and business control roles, he delivered cost reductions, renegotiated key customer contracts, and drove revenue growth across multiple markets.

Markus holds an M.Sc. in Business Administration from Linköping University and is a certified CMA through the Institute of Management Accountants.
