Inmarsat Maritime renews London International Shipping Week lead sponsor role as global event returns for LISW27

London International Shipping Week is delighted to announce that LISW27 will be “Brought to You By” Inmarsat Maritime, reinforcing the company’s role as a leading technology partner to the global maritime industry and a long-standing champion of innovation in the UK.

Inmarsat Maritime, a Viasat company, is a global leader in mobile satellite communications. Founded in 1979 to support safety at sea, the company has continuously evolved its capabilities to meet the demands of an increasingly digital and data-driven industry. Today, it delivers innovative technology solutions, such as NexusWave bonded connectivity, an experience-driven service designed around operational outcomes and crew satisfaction.

As part of its ongoing commitment to LISW, Inmarsat will once again spearhead the Innovation and Technology agenda, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers and technology experts to address the key challenges shaping the future of maritime, from digitalisation and cybersecurity to regulatory alignment and operational resilience. In the lead-up to LISW27, we will convene a series of government-industry roundtables, as well as hold a focused high-level event during LISW27 itself. This engagement will play a critical role in shaping the dialogue around maritime innovation, strengthening London’s position as a global hub for maritime leadership, and advancing collaboration across the sector.

Welcoming Inmarsat Maritime’s continued support of LISW27, Sean Moloney, co-Founder and joint-CEO of LISW, said: “Inmarsat Maritime has been a major supporter of LISW from the very beginning, and we are proud to be working with them again for the next instalment of this amazing global maritime week.

“Bringing together government and industry to address the opportunities and challenges of digitalisation will be key in ensuring maritime remains competitive, secure and future-ready.”

Ben Palmer OBE, President, Viasat Commercial, commented: “Maritime is entering a new phase where digital infrastructure, resilience and sovereignty are becoming strategic priorities for governments and industries alike. Connectivity is foundational to how nations secure supply chains, enable trade and support critical services at sea.

“At Viasat and Inmarsat, we bring the global infrastructure, expertise and innovation required to support this shift. London International Shipping Week provides a unique platform to bring together policymakers and industry leaders to align on these priorities and accelerate progress. We see LISW27 as an important moment to shape that dialogue and help define the future of a more connected, secure and resilient maritime sector.”

London International Shipping Week 2027 (LISW27) will run from 13–17 September 2027 across the UK capital, uniting global leaders from shipping, finance, regulation, insurance, ports and technology for a week of high-level dialogue, collaboration and deal-making.
