Mark O’Neil and Columbia Group part ways
Mark O’Neil has left his position as President and CEO of the Columbia Group with immediate effect, according to press reports.
Staff were said to have been informed of O’Neil’s departure in an email from Group Chairman Heinrich Schoeller, with no reason given.
A maritime lawyer by training, O’Neil was a senior partner at first Stephenson Harwood LLP and then Reed Smith LLP, where he led the company’s German Shipping Team, before joining Columbia Group in 2017. He also served as President of InterManager from November 2020 to January 2025,
He is replaced on an interim basis by Andreas Hadjipetrou, Columbia Group’s Chief Commercial Officer and Managing Director of Columbia Shipmanagement, who also sits on the Boards of various industry bodies including BIMCO and the Cyprus Shipping Chamber.
