What’s NEXT announced as main theme for Nor-Shipping 2027
The Oslo- and Lillestrøm-based Nor-Shipping event has chosen ‘NEXT’ as the main theme of its June 2027 exhibition and activity programme, communicating its role at the vanguard of the global industry.
Working closely with partners and an advisory board, Nor-Shipping selected NEXT for its positive, inspiring and ambitious nature. The theme focuses on four key priorities: navigating uncertainty, evolving technologies and business models, executing on ambition, and transforming the industry.
NEXT was also seen to capture the innovation so prominent at Nor-Shipping, while positioning it as the natural arena to access new opportunities and move from possibility to progress.
“Nor-Shipping, like the industry we so proudly serve, is always moving forwards,” comments Sidsel Norvik (pictured), Nor-Shipping Director. “We made a lot of changes in 2025 – with new conferences, international pavilions and exhibition space – and are keen to continue that evolution, building on success.
“2027 will see us create an arena that allows participants to identify the NEXT opportunities, technology, partners, knowledge, talent, and support to help them achieve their most ambitious maritime objectives. In today’s increasingly complex global landscape, defined by both opportunity and uncertainty, we believe NEXT sets the stage for the industry to come together and shape its next phase. That’s a massively exciting prospect. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Norway next June.”
Nor-Shipping 2027 is setting its sights high, aiming to outperform Nor-Shipping 2025, which enjoyed a record number of participants, national pavilions, speakers and exhibitors.
The 2027 event, taking place 7-11 June, is already almost 80% booked, while confirmed corporate partners include industry leaders such as DNB, DNV, ADNOC, Noatum Maritime, Jotun, Kongsberg Maritime, Norwegian Maritime Authority, SKULD, Höegh Autoliners, and Gard.
Plans for next year involve further extensions to the exhibition space, new conferences, and a raft of other partner, networking and independent initiatives.
The full activity agenda is currently being refined but will include stand out initiatives such as: The Ocean Leadership Conference, The Blue Talks, The International Ship Autonomy and Sustainability Summit, Technical Seminars, Ocean Campus, AfterWork @AkerBrygge in Oslo, and a great deal more.
A range of globally leading speakers and new conferences will be revealed in the months to come, with the theme NEXT helping steer content and define agendas.
Nor-Shipping 2025, which had the theme Future-Proof, recorded over 63,000 visitors, with more than 1000 exhibiting companies, and over 100 different nationalities in attendance.
