DCSA unveils upgraded 2026 Industry Blueprint to accelerate digital adoption

The Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA) has released its 2026 Industry Blueprint update, aimed at helping the industry move from fragmented processes toward more aligned, digital ways of working.

As pressure builds to improve efficiency, reduce friction, and enable seamless data exchange across global supply chains – standardised processes are becoming increasingly critical.

DCSA’s Industry Blueprint provides an open, end-to-end reference model covering the full container shipping lifecycle across Shipment, Equipment, and Vessel journeys – and offers a common foundation for how processes can be structured across the industry.

New features in the update include:

• Standards are now directly embedded into process maps, making it clearer to companies how they apply in real-world operations.

• Process maps are now published as standard Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) files – enabling easier integration into organisations’ internal systems and tools.

Together, DCSA says these changes make it easier for organisations to translate standards into day-to-day operations, supporting greater consistency, interoperability, and efficiency across the ecosystem.
