Insta Globe to explore maritime collaboration in Indonesia

In late April, Estonian-based Insta Globe will take part in a high-level maritime business mission to Jakarta, Indonesia, following its presence at Singapore Maritime Week (SMW) next week. Organised by the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Estonian Ministry of Climate and supported by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU programme, the mission brings together companies operating across the maritime sector for meetings with Indonesian industry stakeholders, port representatives and government bodies.

For Insta Globe, the delegation provides an opportunity to introduce its maritime electrification capabilities in a market where shipping, ports and vessel operations play a central role. Shore power infrastructure has also been introduced across a number of Indonesian ports as part of green port initiatives, with ongoing development focused on improving adoption and addressing technical, economic and regulatory challenges. The visit also creates a platform to demonstrate how the company operates internationally, drawing on experience from established global maritime markets while engaging with partners across Southeast Asia.

Insta Globe’s maritime work focuses on defined electrical installation, instrumentation and commissioning scopes within vessel and offshore projects. Operating internationally, supporting projects across Europe, the Middle East and Asia, the company has built a strong track record in established shipbuilding markets, particularly in Germany. Its global mobile teams have supported both newbuild and retrofit projects across a range of vessel types, including cruise ships, cargo vessels, FSOs (Floating Storage and Offloading units) and special-purpose vessels.

Insta Globe has a team of approximately 100 in-house electrical technicians, coordinated by a central office responsible for project management, logistics and administration. This structure allows the company to maintain consistent technical standards while deploying these highly trained mobile teams internationally, providing a stable operational foundation for engagement with its global partners.

Insta Globe’s maritime work focuses on on-site execution, where they’re typically engaged at stages where systems are physically installed, connected, tested and verified against technical documentation and stringent project requirements.

Electrical installation activities include the routing and termination of power and control cabling, as well as the installation of low-current networks that support monitoring, automation, and safety functions. Process instrumentation work covers the installation and connection of field instruments and related systems that enable measurement, control and protection functions on board vessels and floating assets.

These activities are followed by structured testing and verification, during which installed systems are checked for correct functionality, signal integrity, and system interaction. This work is carried out within defined project scopes and in coordination with other technical disciplines, requiring alignment with yard schedules, system suppliers and overall project plans.

Insta Globe delivers this scope for shipyards, marine engineering companies, and marine system suppliers, as well as systems integrators. Within these project environments, the company executes clearly defined electrical and commissioning tasks as part of broader multidisciplinary programmes.

A defining characteristic of Insta Globe’s operating model is that all core technical work is carried out by its own in-house teams. The company does not subcontract electrical installation, instrumentation or commissioning activities, retaining direct responsibility for execution, quality control and compliance across its projects.

Insta Globe says its participation in the Indonesia maritime business mission marks a focused opportunity to engage with partners through a structured trade mission format designed to facilitate dialogue with maritime industry stakeholders and public-sector representatives. This engagement is supported by electrical installation and commissioning expertise developed through international project experience
